I think new divers need to log hours before they touch a torch, and a near miss at 40 feet in Port Arthur last Tuesday is why
Everyone in this trade keeps saying you learn cutting fastest by just getting in there, but when a green tender on our crew lit up next to a live fuel line because nobody made him do six months of basic inspection first, I decided I'd rather be the guy nobody likes than the guy who signs off on that.
