My old dive partner in Galveston swore by using a 6-inch crescent wrench for every bolt, even on the rigging.
I finally tried it on a stuck shackle pin last week and it rounded the head right off. What's the one tool you were told to use that actually made things worse?

Remember my buddy telling me to use a pipe wrench on a stuck car battery terminal. I felt so smart until I crushed the whole post and had to replace the whole cable. That was an expensive lesson in using the wrong tool for the job. I guess we all have to learn these things the hard way sometimes.

Oh man, "rounded the head right off" is the worst feeling. My uncle swore by using a flathead screwdriver for EVERYTHING. Just made a huge scratch on my bike frame.
