PSA: Blew $2,300 on a drysuit that wasn't built for the Gulf, and the company won't take it back
Ordered a custom trilam in March. Measured myself. Waited 11 weeks. First splash off Galveston and the neck seal leaks within 20 minutes. Sent it back. They said I gave them wrong numbers.
Here's my problem. Some guys say a drysuit is a drysuit, just learn to dive it. Others say if you're working warm water you never needed a drysuit in the first place.
I'm in the second camp now. $2,300 gone and I'm back in my beat up wetsuit.
Anybody else get burned on custom gear that failed? Did the maker ever make it right or did you eat it?
11 weeks and $2,300 for a leaky neck seal, that stings. Galveston in a trilam is overkill anyway, I'd take that money back to a good 5mil. Eat it and move on, that's what I did with my last custom order.
