I finally saw what a proper reflow station can do
Used to think hot air guns were all the same until I borrowed an $800 Quick 861DW from a buddy in Austin. The difference in how evenly it heated a BGA chip was night and day, no more chasing cold solder joints. Has anyone else found a budget station that actually works for board repair?

The $800 Quick is a beast but for budget work the T-862 from Yihua ($150 on Amazon) actually holds temp decently once you let it preheat for a few minutes, its what I use for laptop chip swaps.

Does the Yihua take forever to heat up or just a few mins?
