My brand new power trowel blade snapped clean in half on a Friday pour

It happened yesterday afternoon on a driveway job in Springfield. I was finishing a 30 yard pour and heard this awful crack. The blade just gave out, sending pieces flying. I had to finish the last section by hand with a magnesium float, which added like two hours to my day. Has anyone else had a new tool fail that fast? I'm thinking maybe it was a bad batch of steel.

My new Husky wrench broke on the first job, so I feel your pain.

I always figured you got what you paid for with tools, but a buddy had a brand new, expensive blade do the same thing on a slab last year. Turned out the heat treatment on that whole run was off. The company replaced it, but it still killed his whole schedule.
