Wet curing vs. curing compound - I used to think compound was a shortcut

Spent 10 years swearing by spray-on curing compound until a spec job near Portland required wet burlap and soaker hoses for 7 days. That slab came out with half the cracking I normally see, and now I'm questioning everything I learned.

Wet curing killed my compound bias too, that burlap soak method really works better.

Did you notice any weird smell after like three days? My buddy tried that burlap soak method and his whole garage smelled like a wet dog for a week lol. He followed @rowan_roberts49 advice though and let it sit way longer than he planned. He said the compound finally set right after he gave up checking it every day. That burlap thing really lets it breathe compared to a sealed container. I still think he's crazy for messing with wet curing at all though.
