I was digging through old newspaper microfilm for a family history thing and found a declassified memo about a UFO sighting near the Ohio border that listed 14 witnesses but zero follow-up reports, and that discrepancy made me rethink how much small-town cover-ups fly under the radar, anyone else run into documents that just raise more questions?

Hit up the National Archives regional branch in Dayton, they keep FOIA logs that sometimes show what got pulled from smaller depots. Also check if the county sheriff's office kept a blotter from that week, those often list calls that never made it into official reports. Microfilm is cool but it's just the tip, the real stuff is in the paper trails nobody digitizes. Found a similar gap once with a 1974 incident and the local historical society had a shoebox of letters about it that changed everything.
