Paper cut lists vs digital takeoff, I switched after one bad storm in 2021
Now that I run everything through Procore on my tablet, I can update quantities on site in real time, but I still miss the feel of marking up a printed set when I'm talking to the crew, so has anyone else gone back to paper for certain jobs?
Wondering what actually made you switch back for those certain jobs, like is it the plan review meetings or the actual field work where paper wins for you? Curious because I keep hearing crews say they zone out when someone stares at a tablet instead of spreading out drawings on the tailgate. Does the crew actually engage more when you have paper in hand, or is that just a habit we all tell ourselves? And when you do go paper, how do you handle the double entry problem, because typing it all back in later sounds like a nightmare. Trying to figure out if there is a middle ground here or if we are all just picking our poison.
