Had my first proper booth at a craft fair in Portland last weekend

I set up at the Saturday Market in Portland to sell my handmade candles and noticed how many creators had QR codes right on their table signs for people to scan and follow them on socials. It was wild seeing folks actually scanning them while they waited for change or samples, way more than I expected. Any other creators here find that simple trick works better than just handing out business cards?

Honestly the QR code thing is a total game changer (and I say this as someone who still stubbornly hands out business cards like it's 2005). People are lazy and don't want to type a URL, but they'll scan anything if it's right in front of their face while they wait for their change.

Wait, are we talking about the ones on takeout coffee cups? I grabbed a QR code off a friend's water bottle at the gym last week and it took me to some weird ASMR channel instead of their Insta. Not what I was scanning for but hey, it was a fun surprise. They're everywhere now, I even saw one taped to a parking meter downtown with a link to a lost cat poster.
