My video from 3 years ago in Portland suddenly got 50k views last week

I posted a short vlog about the rainy season there back in 2021. It got maybe 200 views and I forgot about it. Last month, a bigger creator made a video about hidden gems in the Pacific Northwest and mentioned my exact spot. Now my old video is getting pushed hard by the algorithm. Has anyone else had an old piece of content randomly blow up like that?

Was it a specific park or lookout point? I used to think old content was just dead in the water, but my tutorial on fixing a squeaky door got like 10 views for a year. Then it suddenly got 80k in a week because a storm hit a bunch of states and everyone's doors were sticking. The algorithm works in weird ways sometimes.

Wow, that's a crazy jump in views! Was it a regular storm or something really specific, like a sudden cold snap or a ton of humidity? I'm trying to figure out what finally made the algorithm pick it up.
