My videos were failing until I focused on the first 30 seconds
I kept wondering why my videos got so few views even though I put in a lot of work. After feeling stuck for months, I decided to dive into my analytics. I saw that most people clicked away in the first half minute. That hit me hard because I always spent time on long intros. So I tried cutting them down to just a few seconds. At first, it felt weird, but my watch time started to go up. Now I make sure to hook viewers right away, and it really helped. I wish I had looked at the data sooner, lmao.

It's crazy how many of us make that same mistake with long intros (I was totally guilty of it for years). Getting people to stay past the first thirty seconds is the real battle, and it sounds like you found the exact fix. Figuring that out from your own numbers is seriously smart. That must have been a huge relief to see your watch time climb after feeling stuck for so long. Good on you for digging into the analytics and actually changing your approach.

Wait, you said you did long intros for YEARS, @jenny391? That blows my mind! I can't imagine sticking with something that wasn't working for that long, it must have been so frustrating. It's so easy to just keep making videos the same way and hope they catch on. The fact that you finally checked the numbers and saw the drop-off right at the start is such a game changer. Cutting that intro must have felt like unlocking a whole new channel. That's the kind of simple fix that changes everything.

Oh man, this hits way too close to home. I had a whole animated intro with my logo and a little jingle for like two years. I thought it made me look legit. Turns out it just made people click away. I was so proud of that thing, I couldn't even see it was the problem. Finally looking at the analytics felt like getting slapped in the face with a cold fish, but in a good way. Cutting it was the easiest hard choice I ever made.
