Trying to fix a weird audio echo on my livestream cost me a whole afternoon

I was setting up a new mic, a Rode NT1, and for some reason my OBS feed had this hollow echo that made my voice sound like I was in a tunnel. I messed with every filter and setting I could find for about four hours. Turns out I had left my laptop's built-in mic on as a backup source, and the two were fighting each other. Anyone else run into a simple double-input problem that wasted a bunch of time?

My buddy spent a whole day on a video call echo that was just his phone speaker.

Oh @miles946, that's just his own voice bouncing back.

Remember that echo on a work call last week? My friend was trying to give a presentation and his own voice kept coming back a second later. He finally realized his laptop mic was picking up the sound from his external speakers.
