That $400 'viral' content calendar template did nothing for us
Bought this fancy Notion template everyone was hyping on LinkedIn last month, 400 bucks for a content calendar with all these automations and tags. Ran our whole March schedule through it and honestly we spent more time fixing the formulas than actually planning. Our old Google Sheets doc with a simple color code worked better. Anyone else waste money on a template that just overcomplicated things? What are you all actually using to plan your editorial stuff?
For us the fix was honestly going backwards. We ditched the fancy tool after two weeks and now we just use a shared checklist in Google Docs with a weekly grid. Each post gets a simple status tag and we color code the platform column. It's ugly but it works because nobody has to learn anything new. Value is in the routine not the price tag.
