Can we talk about cold pizza versus microwaved pizza for breakfast

I've seen this debate pop up a few times, and I'm firmly on team cold pizza straight from the fridge. Last Sunday, I had leftover pepperoni and mushroom from a place called Tony's. I tried one slice microwaved for 30 seconds and one slice cold. The microwaved slice got that weird, rubbery crust and the cheese turned into a greasy mess. The cold slice kept all the flavors separate and the crust had a nice chew. It's a texture thing for me. The cold fats and congealed cheese just hit different when you're still waking up. Has anyone else done a side by side test like this and reached the same conclusion?

That part about the "little secret club" really gets me. My buddy Mark from down the street tried the side by side test last week actually, he grabbed a slice of our usual Friday night pizza from Luigi's, the one with sausage and hot honey. He put one in the microwave for 20 seconds and left the other on the counter for a few minutes. The microwaved one got all sweaty on top, he said the cheese slid right off the crust in one big greasy sheet, not even worth eating. Now he's a total convert to the cold slice club.

Totally agree with you on the cold pizza! That microwave trick always ruins the crust, makes it so tough. The cold slice just has a better feel to it, especially in the morning. You're right about the flavors staying separate too, it's like a different food. My roommate thinks I'm crazy for eating it cold, but he's missing out. Once you try them side by side, there's no going back.

Notice how the best way to enjoy so many foods is actually the "wrong" way. Like cold pizza for breakfast, or eating the crispy burnt bits of mac and cheese from the corner of the pan, or even preferring a slightly stale cookie over a fresh one. It feels like a little secret club for people who get it.
