My trusty microwave finally quit on me last night, right when I needed my weirdest comfort food.
I was having a rough day and just wanted my go-to weird snack: a bowl of cold canned corn mixed with cottage cheese and a ton of black pepper. The microwave in my apartment in Phoenix just made a sad noise and died. I ended up eating it cold anyway, and you know what? It was still perfect. Does anyone else have a comfort food that's just as good when your kitchen gear fails?

That's the worst timing. My old toaster oven gave out right as I was about to make garlic bread one time. Had to eat the bread soft with cold butter, and honestly, it was fine.

Used to think that was a total disaster.

Check the fuse box first, mine did the same thing last summer and it was just a tripped breaker. If that's not it, unplug it for a full minute and plug it back in, sometimes they just need a hard reset. If it's really dead, hit up a thrift store, they always have a few for like twenty bucks. Your snack sounds amazing though, cold corn and cottage cheese is a total mood.
