Finally got a client's hair to hold a curl after three tries
I mean, this lady came to my chair in Cincinnati last month with hair that just would not keep a wave, said she'd given up. I tried a new method I saw online, using a mousse called 'Strong Hold' and pinning each curl while it cooled. It took about an hour and a half total, but when I took the pins out, it looked perfect. She texted me a picture the next day and it was still there. Anyone else have a go-to trick for super straight, stubborn hair?

Oh man, I feel that struggle. My cousin has that super fine, straight hair and it's a battle. I've had good luck with a light spray on the sections before curling, then using those little clip things to hold the curl until it's totally cold. The cooling down part seems to make all the difference.

My sister has that exact hair type and it took us years to figure out the cold set trick. We even tried pinning the curls up with bobby pins overnight, but they'd still fall flat by noon. The light spray is key, too much product just weighs it down. Honestly, letting the curl cool completely in the clip is the only thing that gives it any staying power.

Is it really that deep though? It's just hair, not a physics experiment.
