Shoutout to the blow-dry brush with the metal core I found at a supply shop in Phoenix

I kept getting frizz on fine hair clients until I tried one with a ceramic barrel that distributes heat evenly, no hot spots. Anybody else find random tools that just click better than the expensive brands?

...and here I am with yet another random Amazon purchase that somehow works better than the stuff I spent real money on at the beauty store. I picked up a knockoff hot brush from a weird little kiosk at the mall once. It had some kind of weird textured barrel that somehow grabbed my fine hair without frying it. Still use it two years later. My expensive brand ones are sitting in a drawer collecting dust.

Throw away the instruction booklet that comes with those things. I figured out that the temperature dial is usually calibrated wrong on the cheap ones. I tested mine with a heat gun thermometer and it runs 30 degrees cooler than what it says, which is actually PERFECT for fine hair. The expensive ones run HOTTER than advertised, that's why they fry people's hair.
