Showerthought: I had a color correction go sideways on a client who wanted platinum from box black.

This was at my station in the salon last Thursday. The bleach lifted patchy and left orange bands near her roots. I mixed a violet toner with a 10 volume developer and applied it just to the warm sections, not the whole head. It evened out to a cool blonde after fifteen minutes. Has anyone found a better method for fixing banding without a full re-bleach?

My friend swears by a blue shampoo glaze.

What's it actually supposed to do for your hair?

It cancels out yellow tones in blonde or gray hair. Kim_west is right about the blue tint working. My own hair turned brassy last summer. Used a blue shampoo twice a week. Made a huge difference, kept it looking cool and ashy. Just don't overdo it or your hair might look a bit dull.
