That time a bride's updo fell apart right before the ceremony

I was doing hair for a wedding party in Charleston last summer, and the bride's intricate braided updo just came undone as she was putting on her veil. My heart sank, but I had exactly seven minutes before she had to walk down the aisle. I grabbed my extra-hold spray and some bobby pins and rebuilt it on the spot, keeping her calm the whole time. Has anyone else had a major style save under crazy time pressure like that?

The real test is keeping the bride calm. Panic spreads faster than a hairpin drops. You handled both.

Wait, you dropped hairpins? I thought that was just a saying, not a real thing that happened lol

My friend's sister had her wedding makeup melt off in a heatwave right before photos. The artist had to blot, powder, and redo half her face in the parking lot with no mirror, just using a phone screen. Can you imagine trying to fix eyeliner like that? The pictures actually looked great, no one would guess it was a five minute panic fix. That kind of pressure would make me forget my own name.
