TIL I've done 1,200 blowouts and I can finally tell when the client is lying to me
I counted my appointment logs last night after a slow shift and realized I've hit 1,200 blowouts since I started at the salon in Austin. That number hit me weird because I remember struggling through my first 50, and now I can spot a 'I just washed it this morning' lie from a mile away. The frizz tells, the way the hair isn't evenly saturated, and honestly the scalp smell gives it away too. Has anyone else hit a random milestone and suddenly felt like their hands just knew things their brain didn't?
Feeling this so hard right now because I hit 800 last month and had the same weird moment where my hands just went on autopilot. That smell thing is so real too, I can tell when someone used way too much dry shampoo to cover up day four hair. The way you can read the frizz and the uneven wet spots is something no one teaches you, it just builds up after you've touched enough heads. It's wild how our brains stop keeping score but our hands keep a whole log somewhere. 1200 is a lot of hours of standing and small talk and sore wrists, so good on you for even noticing the milestone.
