My take on offshore crane jobs after a stint in the Gulf
They're way more stressful than land-based work. The constant sway and salt spray mess with your focus like nothing else.

How long was your stint out there? The motion sickness was brutal for me at first. What finally helped was sticking to a real strict routine, same prep every shift. Also, I got these anti-fog wipes for my safety glasses that cut the salt spray glare way down. It never gets easy, but that stuff made it feel less like the ocean was fighting me personally.

Totally agree with troylane about the routine. It gets your brain hardwired for the chaos. Makes the whole thing way less of a mind game.

Man, calling the motion sickness 'brutal' is spot on. I found that a strict routine was key for me too, just like you said. It really does take the edge off when the sea gets rough.
