That moment your cable snaps on a 50 ton pick

Had a pendant cable snap clean through last Tuesday on a Liebherr LTM 1050. Wind caught the hook block just right and it whipped around, sliced the rubber jacket like butter. Had to stop the whole job and wait 3 hours for a spare part van, anyone else have near misses with cable fatigue?

Wrap your pendants with split loom tubing where they rub against anything.

I get what you're saying Richard, but I've actually had the opposite experience with split loom. I tried it on my guitar amp cables, and the split kept catching on edges and peeling back. @wyatt_green31 might be onto something with silicone though, I've seen that stuff hold up way better in tight spots. Split loom just seems to fray and get ugly after a few months in my gear bag. Honestly, I'd rather just use electrical tape than deal with that mess again.

I heard silicone tubing works even better for that.
