I hated update waits until a close call changed my view
Last month, I almost skipped a system update because I was in a hurry. My computer told me to restart, but I thought I could do it later. That same day, a friend had his account hacked due to an old software hole. I realized my update would have fixed that issue, so I stopped and let it install. It took about thirty minutes, which felt long at the time. Now I make sure to update as soon as I see the alert, no matter what. That short wait is much better than dealing with a security mess.

Honestly, my stubbornness about updates led to a security scare that made thirty-minute waits look like a vacation.

Setting a calendar reminder worked for me, @avery305.

Hey, @karen_perry38's reminder helps, but updates need strong passwords too to really keep you safe.
