My old password manager stopped working, so I switched to KeePassXC.

It's free and keeps everything offline on my own computer. Has anyone else moved away from cloud based managers for security?

Man, that LastPass thing sounds like a total nightmare. I've had to do that manual copy over before with a different app and it's the worst way to spend a weekend. Keep it offline on your own computer is the safest bet in my book. Too many cloud services pull that bait and switch after they got your data locked in. I'd rather have a backup file on a thumb drive than trust some company to not change the rules on me later.

Yeah, the free version of LastPass I was using for years just bricked itself after an update. It wouldn't sync, and the export function was completely broken. Had to manually copy over about two hundred logins to a new service over a weekend. The whole thing felt like a hostage situation to get me to pay for a subscription.
