Question about password managers - are cloud ones safe enough?

Last week I finally gave in and set up Bitwarden after putting it off for months. My brother in Austin has been using LastPass for 3 years now and he swears by it, but I keep hearing about cloud breaches every few months. On one hand, using a local manager like KeePass feels safer because it's all on my machine. But on the other hand, if my hard drive dies I lose everything. Which side do you guys lean on for your day to day logins?

Isn't it funny how we trust the cloud for everything else but freak out about passwords?

oh man, you're overthinking this. cloud password managers are basically like trusting a bank with your money instead of stuffing it under your mattress. yeah breaches happen but bitwarden's been solid so far and if your hard drive dies you're way more screwed than if someone somehow cracks your encrypted vault.
