inTook me 3 rewatches of The Wire to realize I was skipping the wrong scenes
@alicesingh has the right idea, only problem is you have to actually do the rewatch for it to matter. My buddy still claims he watched all of The Wire but somehow missed every single scene with Stringer Bell running the business side.

inHad to choose between a new pump or fixing my old one on site
Bought a 6-inch Chinese trash pump off Craigslist once for $200. Ran it for a whole season on a drainage job, only had to replace the impeller once. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

inMy $3 bag of lentils turned into 8 meals and I still have leftovers
Day 3 of lentil soup is where it all falls apart, I feel you. I tried that whole "batch cook on Sunday" thing once and by Wednesday I was staring at the container like it was a punishment. The texture thing is real too, it goes from okay to baby food real quick no matter how much cumin you throw in. Honestly I'd rather just eat a big sandwich and call it a day than pretend I'm loving a bowl of beige paste for the fourth time in a row.

inMy family thinks my spaghetti tacos are a crime against food
That rosemary trick really elevates the whole "serving stale snacks" aesthetic, doesn't it.

inMy uncle's rant about "participation trophies" actually made me reconsider my stance
ha, yeah your nephew asking about the sky being green is way funnier tbh. speaking of weird kid logic, i once got a trophy for "most improved" at chess club when i was the only one who hadnt quit yet. like i literally just kept showing up because my mom made me, and they gave me a shiny thing for it. felt more like a participation award for not quitting than actual improvement lol. but honestly, i think the kid's question does hit on something real, even if its just one story.
