Hit 500 cars repaired and the one that nearly broke me was a 1998 Ford Taurus
I crossed the 500 mark on my repair count last Thursday, which felt like a big deal until I realized the car that pushed me over was this rusty old Taurus with bondo packed three inches deep in the rear quarter panel. It took me six hours just to cut out all the previous patch jobs and get a clean start. Any of you guys track your repair numbers or do you just let the pile speak for itself?

Did that Taurus happen to have a half-empty bottle of Mountain Dew stuck to the floor with dried syrup?

Funny you mention that @paigep20, because I actually ran into almost that exact same mess with a Taurus I flipped a few years back. The whole floor was sticky, had a crusted up bottle of some generic soda under the passenger seat. What worked for me was just pouring a little WD-40 on the worst spots and letting it sit for ten minutes, then scrubbing with a stiff brush and a shop vac. It pulled up most of the dried syrup without damaging the carpet or making it worse. Still had to do a quick steam clean after but it saved me from having to rip the whole floor out. Stuff like that is half the battle on these beaters, you just find weird tricks to get through it.
