Picked a La Marzocco Linea Mini over a Slayer Single Group for my shop in Silver Lake

I went back and forth for like 3 weeks on this. The Slayer has that cool pre-infusion tech but the price tag was $3,000 more and I heard repair parts can take forever to ship. I ended up going with the Linea Mini because the service tech in LA actually stocks all the gaskets and seals locally, saved me on downtime. Has anyone else had to choose between two machines and regret the decision later?

Actually the Slayer's pre-infusion isn't unique anymore, the Linea Mini has a manual pre-infusion button on the paddle too if you hold it partway for a few seconds. You made the right call though, local parts availability beats fancy features every time.

Yeah, the "local parts availability beats fancy features" part really hit home for me. I've learned that lesson the hard way more than once, honestly. Nice to see someone else gets it too.

Hang on, are we really treating pre-infusion like it's life or death here? I mean, yeah, it's a cool feature and all, but a few seconds of water before the shot isn't gonna make or break your morning latte. @rose_cooper, you fell hard for that "hit home" line, but honestly, people overthink this stuff way too much. A dialed in grind and fresh beans matter WAY more than any fancy paddle trick.
