Stop thinking of it as them versus you and just listen to what they're actually saying. I've been around long enough to know that some fresh out of school kids have good ideas, and some don't, it's about the same mix as older folks. The trick is to take their advice on things they've actually studied or worked on, and then politely ignore anything else until they've got some real world experience under their belt. That way you don't miss out on something useful just because they're young.

22 year olds thinking they know everything, that's a new one on me.

Why is it so hard to believe that someone in their early 20s might actually know a thing or two? They just spent four years learning the latest thinking in their field, while I've been doing the same job for twenty years and probably picked up a few bad habits along the way. My nephew just graduated with a degree in computer science, and he's already explaining to me why my old way of organizing files is a mess. Sometimes fresh eyes catch things we've all gotten too comfortable ignoring.
