Warning: my batter station setup cost me 6 extra hours last Sunday
I kept running back and forth between the fryer and the prep counter because my wet mix kept sliding off the cutting board. Took me 2 failed batches of onion rings before I grabbed a damp paper towel to anchor the bowl, then I finally timed myself. Six hours total for what should have been a 45 minute snack session, all because I never thought about the bowl sliding. Anyone else got a dumb station fix that saved them way more time than it should have?
The wet mix sliding off the cutting board thing gets me because it's such a small fix that snowballs into a whole wasted afternoon. That's how it goes with most of these little setup problems, you don't notice the friction until you're already six hours deep and mad about it. A damp paper towel under a bowl costs nothing, and honestly half of cooking is just noticing the dumb stuff earlier.
