That one Wednesday in March where every lease fell through
I was working on three different deals for months, all set to close around the same time. On that Wednesday, I got calls from all three tenants backing out within two hours of each other. One food truck operator said their funding dried up, another retail shop decided to stay in their current space, and the third just ghosted me after the inspection. I had spent like 40 hours on paperwork and site visits for nothing. It was brutal because I had already told my broker I was expecting a decent commission that quarter. Have any of you had a day where everything just collapsed at once like that?
Friend of mine bought a small retail unit a few years back (big mistake, honestly) and the tenant went bust after six months. Ended up losing a chunk of his deposit. Guess that's just the gamble @morgan_ramirez was talking about.
