Can we talk about the cheap aftermarket turbo rebuild kits on eBay?

I put a $150 kit from some no-name seller into a 6.7 Powerstroke last month and it lasted about 300 miles before the bearings went. The wastegate actuator was junk right out of the box. Anyone have a go-to brand for these that won't cost a fortune but actually holds up?

Totally agree, my cheap kit for a Cummins has been fine for years now.

Honestly, I've had the total opposite happen. Grabbed a $120 eBay kit for my old Duramax a couple years back and it's still going strong at 40k miles. Sometimes you just get a bad one, but writing off all the cheap kits feels like throwing money away. The name-brand rebuild is over a grand for basically the same parts in a fancy box. For a truck that's not a daily driver or doing heavy towing, the risk is worth the savings in my book.
