PSA: retired guy in Tulsa showed me a 5 minute trick for stuck injector lines
Was fighting a stuck line on a 5.9 Cummins for two days at the shop and this old timer walked by and said 'son, crack the nut and bump the starter, let the pressure do the work.' Took him 90 seconds to pop it loose after I'd been yanking on it with a 17mm for a whole shift. Any of you all got tricks like that from the old heads that you still use?
Cracking the nut and bumping the starter works, sure, but you better be ready for a face full of diesel if that line lets go all at once. I've seen guys do that trick and end up with fuel in their eyes because they weren't wearing glasses or had a rag stuffed wrong. The old heads know what they're doing because they've been burned before, literally. Give me a little heat and some PB Blaster any day over playing chicken with pressurized fuel lines.
