I had a terrible week for digital art last month
Ngl I spent 3 days on a piece and my tablet pen died halfway through the final rendering. Has anyone else had a whole project just fall apart on you like that?

Laughing my way through this pain because yep, been there with the cat thing but with my dog's tail knocking my stylus out of my hand right as I was adding final highlights to a piece I'd worked on for two days straight. Honestly I think my tablet can smell when I'm close to being done and decides that's the perfect moment to stop working. Last month I spent four hours on a background only to realize I'd been working on the wrong layer the whole time. Had to sit and stare at the wall for a solid ten minutes after that one. Its like the universe is personally out to make sure my art never gets completed on schedule. Do you find yourself taking more or fewer breaks now after getting burned like that?

Reminds me of when my save file corrupted mid-backup... still haven't started that painting again.

Ha, "whole project just fall apart" is putting it mildly. I spent a week on a portrait once and my cat decided to walk across my keyboard and somehow selected the "delete layer" command on my entire shading layer (I didn't even know that was possible). So I feel your pain, really. Tablet pens dying at the worst possible moment is a classic curse though, it's like they can smell when you're about to finish.
