My first gallery show in Portland made me rethink my whole process.
Seeing my digital pieces printed huge on a wall felt totally different from a screen, and now I can't decide if I should keep making art for online or aim for more real world shows. Has anyone else had a show change how they work?

Used to say online was better, but @evac89 seeing art in person totally changed my mind.

Maybe think about who you want to reach. I mean, the feeling in a room is huge, but online your stuff can get to people who'd never walk into a gallery.

Wait, that's the thing though @evac89. It's not just about reaching more people. A photo of a painting online is flat, you lose all the texture and the scale. Seeing a huge canvas in person hits different. Like, you can't feel the brush strokes or see how the light changes on the thick paint from across a room on a tiny phone screen. The internet is great for ideas, but it totally flattens the real, physical experience.
