Wasted $75 on a fancy brush set that shed like crazy after 3 uses

I bought this highly recommended brush pack from an Etsy shop for digital painting, and by the third piece the bristles were falling off and leaving streaks all over my canvas, has anyone else had luck with cheaper alternatives?

Whoa hold on, normal shedding is like a few loose hairs after the first wash, not your whole brush falling apart. If bristles are actually coming out and leaving streaks on your canvas after just three uses, that's not normal wear, that's a manufacturing defect. Those Etsy sellers are mostly just reselling cheap Chinese brushes with a nice logo slapped on. I've had way better luck with the same basic synthetic brushes from an art supply store for half the price. The quality control on those is way more consistent than some random handmade shop.

A whole 75 bucks on brushes that shed that fast? That's rough but honestly some shedding is pretty normal with new brushes for the first few uses. Are you sure it's actually wrecking your work or just being annoying?

Dan nailed it. Normal shedding is a stray hair or two, not chunks of bristle falling out mid stroke. If it's leaving actual streaks on your canvas that's a defective brush, not a "break in period" thing.
