Watching my niece create digital art reminded me why I started.
Kids have no fear with colors and it's contagious.

Yeah that "pure joy" thing is nice and all but come on. Once you gotta pay bills with your art, is messing around with neon green really gonna cut it? Sounds like a fun weekend but not exactly how real work gets made. Kid art is cute but it's not some deep secret to being creative as an adult. Sometimes overthinking is just called having standards.

My nephew Jake is only five but he mixes colors on his app without a second thought. It totally took me back to when I first picked up a paintbrush. I used to overthink every shade, but watching him go wild with neon green and purple made me try again. Last week I dug out my old sketchbook and just played with colors for hours. That kind of pure joy is exactly why I got into art in the first place. Now I make time to draw with him every Sunday and it keeps my own creativity fresh.

Ever think kid art was just messy color? @henry_martin37's story about his nephew made me see the fun in not overthinking. Now I get why that simple joy is what art is about.
