Shoutout to the guy who told me my SEO blog needed more "umami"

I was at a marketing meetup in Austin last month and this dude just walks up while I'm talking about my content strategy. He says, "Your blog posts are like plain rice - technically fine but nobody craves it." Then he spent 10 minutes explaining how I needed to add more "umami" by weaving in real data stories instead of generic tips. I laughed it off but tried it on my next post and it pulled 3x more shares. Has anyone else gotten weirdly good advice from a random stranger at an event?
