The biggest change I've seen in 5 years of coworking spaces

I started working from coworking spaces back in 2019 in Chiang Mai, and back then it was all about just having a desk and decent wifi. Fast forward to this year in Medellin, and every space I visit has private phone booths, yoga rooms, and even nap pods. I think the shift came when enough nomads complained about noisy open layouts during Zoom calls. Has anyone else noticed how much coworking spaces have changed since the pandemic?

To be honest I was one of those people who thought coworking spaces were fine the way they were before. I used to roll my eyes at the idea of nap pods and yoga rooms, like just bring your noise cancelling headphones and deal with it, you know? But after taking a sales call in a hallway last month because all the tables were in loud open areas, I get it now. The private phone booths really do make a difference, especially when you're trying to close a deal and someone next to you is eating chips.

Yeah man, the hallway struggle is real. Glad you get it now.

Same thing happened to me last week. I was on a video call for a big new client and had to hide in the staircase because every desk was overflow. It's wild how you don't realize something's missing until you're literally standing in a hallway trying to sound professional. New respect for phone booths for sure.
