TIL that grocery stores in Bali don't always stock my go-to breakfast items.

I'm used to having oatmeal every morning, but here, it's all rice-based foods. I ended up trying local porridge, and it was actually pretty good. What's your plan B for meals when your usual stuff isn't around?

Tbh, while trying local food is great, I see plan B as a chance to get creative. Like in Bali, if oatmeal's scarce, you could mix local rice flakes with coconut milk and fruit for a similar comfort. Honestly, I once used cornmeal in Mexico to make a savory breakfast bowl when my usual cereal was nowhere. It ended up being a new staple for me back home. Adapting like that feels less like giving up and more like personalizing your travel experience.

Skip plan B, local food's the whole point of traveling.

Heard a podcast say local food is the only plan needed.
