Silverware baskets - does anyone actually sort by type or just toss everything in?

My wife sorts all the forks together, all the spoons together, knives in their own slot. Takes her like 5 extra minutes. I just grab a handful and drop them in whatever hole is open. She says mine stack and don't get clean. I say they all end up in the same drawer anyway. Ran a test last weekend with some greasy spaghetti forks. Both sides came out the same. Now she's mad I proved her wrong. Who here actually sorts and who just tosses?

5 minutes is way too long to be standing around sorting forks and spoons lmao. I'm with you on the toss method. Does the water even care if they're arranged by category?

Started getting into it myself after my wife showed me how she does it. What really clicked for me was watching her sort a mixed set of plastic takeout containers. She took the time to find the lids that matched and stacked the rest by size. Now I gotta say, there's something satisfying about opening a cupboard and seeing everything line up neat. I still slip up sometimes, but she's patient.
