My dad watched me struggle with a stripped screw for 20 minutes and just said 'you're fighting the tool, not the job'.

My uncle did that once and honestly it taught me more than if he'd just grabbed the screwdriver.

What kind of thing was your uncle fixing? My dad made me figure out how to change a bike tire by myself when I was like 12. I messed it up twice, but finally getting it right felt awesome lol.

I mean, I've definitely been there. For me, what finally worked was taking a step back and actually asking my dad to show me what he meant, not just telling me. He had this old screwdriver that fit the stripped head just right, and he said sometimes you gotta match the tool to the problem, not force it. After that, I started keeping a little toolbox with different bits and stuff, and now when I get stuck I just swap out the tool instead of fighting it. It's amazing how much that one little fix saved me from wanting to throw the whole project away.
