Question about a tape joint that cracked in a week
Finished a ceiling in a Phoenix garage last Tuesday and the main seam split open by Friday. Did I use the wrong mud for the heat, or is it a framing issue?

Could it be the tape itself? Did you use the cheap paper tape or the mesh kind? That mesh stuff doesn't bond as well sometimes, especially if the mud was a little dry.

What brand of mesh tape did you end up using? I've seen some cheap rolls that just don't stick right.
