My buddy Dave spent like 3 hours on his hockey stick tape job once, just trying to get the spiral perfect. He was doing that thing where you overlap each layer by exactly a quarter inch and smooth it down with your thumb after every wrap. Looked like a damn machine did it, all clean and professional. Then he took one slap shot in warmups and the whole thing started peeling off at the heel. So now I just do the basic wrap around the blade and call it good, way less stressful and honestly stays on longer.
