Caution: What I saw at a family cookout has me worried for amateur wiring.
My cousin tried to hook up outdoor lights without a ground fault circuit interrupter. The whole party jumped when the fuse blew, and now I'm spreading the word.

Ever think about what happens to your home insurance if a bad wiring job starts a fire? They will look for any code violation to deny the claim. That blown fuse was the cheapest warning he'll ever get.

My own wiring mess-up last year had me jumping more than the fuse. Still finding bits of wire in the backyard.
