That one Thursday in August where everything went sideways on a new build
Ngl, I had a day last month that was just brutal. We were roughing in a house in Phoenix and the homeowner kept changing where the island outlet goes, like 3 times in one afternoon. Then my impact driver died halfway through and I had to borrow from the framers. Has anyone else dealt with a client who can't make up their mind about basic stuff?
Hear me out but maybe the homeowner was just overwhelmed and not trying to be difficult. Phoenix summers are brutal and making choices about outlets while the house is still a dirt pile is pretty stressful. Sometimes a little patience saves you from having to redo work later.
I've been in that EXACT spot before. Had a client in Scottsdale who froze up when we hit the rough-in stage and suddenly wanted to rethink Every. Single. Outlet. placement. Look, I get it - once the drywall goes up, moving a box becomes a real headache. What I do now is text them photos of the studs with outlet locations marked with painters tape before we even trench. That way they can walk it themselves at 6pm when it's not 110 degrees and their brain isn't fried. Nine times out of ten they just need to sleep on it and the second look goes way smoother.
