Found a short in a customer's Xbox at my shop in Austin that changed my whole approach

I had this Series X come in with no power at all, and after wasting 2 hours checking the PSU I finally found a tiny whisker of solder bridging two pins on the HDMI retimer chip. Now I check every board under a scope before I even plug anything in - has anyone else had a hidden solder ball cause a crazy issue like that?

Was that a manufacturing defect or did someone else already crack that board open before you?

Pretty sure that's just called doing your job right, not some big life changing moment. @karen_perry38 probably has a point though, most of those solder balls come from someone else's bad rework job. A whisker of solder shouldn't rewrite your whole approach unless you were skipping basic inspection before.
