Had a 2018 MacBook Pro come in with the classic backlight issue after a battery swap
Customer said they did the battery themselves and now the screen is dark. I'm seeing 0V on the backlight fuse, so I'm leaning towards a shorted cap on the boost circuit. Anyone have a go-to spot to check first on these boards?

Check C7700 right by the fuse, that cap loves to short after a battery swap. If that's fine, probe around U7700 for any low resistance to ground. Seen a few where the boost inductor got knocked loose during the repair too. Good luck, those backlight circuits are a pain lol.

Yeah, @xena_fox39 is spot on about C7700. I just fixed one last week where that exact cap was a dead short after someone did a battery. Another time, the solder on L7700 looked fine but one side was actually cracked under the coil body. Had to reflow the whole thing. Those backlight lines are so easy to mess up if you're not super careful pulling the board out.
