Had a win today fixing my multimeter, but honestly, why do dirty probes mess with readings so bad?

Ever think the dirt just adds resistance and screws up the reading?

Ugh, been there. Moisture or just grime buildup can totally throw things off in my experience. Makes the whole process feel pointless sometimes.

Clean everything with a dry cloth before you even start. Honestly, I had the same issue with my gear getting weird readings from grime. Tbh, @holly420, moisture buildup is such a pain and makes it feel useless. I started wiping things down after each use and leaving them in a dry spot. Ngl, it adds a minute to the process but stops the false readings. Now I actually trust the results and don't get frustrated.
