Had to choose between a fancy ABM platform and a spreadsheet for our Q4 campaign

My boss wanted me to pick between rolling out Demandbase or just tracking everything in Google Sheets for our top 20 accounts. I went with the spreadsheet because we had a $0 budget, and three weeks later I'm manually merging data from 4 different sources and losing my mind. Has anyone else tried making enterprise marketing work on a shoestring budget without the fancy tools?

Oh man, I've been there. You'll quickly learn every weird quirk of those four data sources and start dreaming about what a real CRM could do for you.

learning every weird quirk" hit different last night when I realized Salesforce and HubSpot export dates in completely different formats and had to manually recalc 6 weeks of data. @jones.anna is totally right though, you start developing workarounds that make zero sense to anyone else but keep you going. I've got sticky notes everywhere and a color coding system my coworkers think is insane. The worst part is when you finally get everything matching up and then one source refreshes and your whole sheet is wrecked again. Solidarity over here.
